Mediation Services
Mediation is a preferred alternative to litigation. It is a private, voluntary and structured dispute resolution process guided by a neutral third-party – the mediator.
In mediation, we act as third-party neutrals, working with you and any other party to find cooperative ways to resolve your differences. When mediating, we do not provide legal advice to either party and we do not render a decision. Instead, we facilitate and guide your work with the other parties to find solutions that are satisfactory to everyone involved.
You may choose to be represented by a lawyer in mediation or retain a consulting attorney to support the process, but it is not required. Once you resolve all issues, we will prepare an agreement setting forth the terms, which will then become enforceable in a court of law.
At Good Law Firm – Roytberg Traum Law and Mediation, P.C. – we provide mediation services in numerous areas including: Divorce and Family Law, Estate and Elder Care Planning, and Civil Matters.

Family Mediation
If you are planning to file for a traditional litigated divorce or have already begun the court process, you may want to consider divorce mediation as an alternative. This is especially true if you would like to resolve your differences while maintaining a civilized, relationship with your partner. In fact, we believe that mediation should be your very first consideration when deciding how to separate or divorce.
In addition to reducing the emotional and financial costs of divorce, mediation can give you more control over the outcome. Decisions about custody, support and property are decided by you and your partner, not a judge who does not know your family’s needs. Family mediation also can be helpful for couples who are negotiating a prenuptial or postnuptial agreement.

Elder mediation services help families through their struggles while preserving family unity and honoring multigenerational interests.
