ALLA ROYTBERG: FOUNDER – PRINCIPAL ATTORNEY AND MEDIATOR
Alla Roytberg Esq. is a lawyer, mediator and frequent lecturer with over 20 years of professional experience.
After graduating from Fordham University School of Law in 1991 and practicing law at two law firms for five years, Ms. Roytberg started The Law Firm and Mediation Practice of Alla Roytberg in 1996. Currently, the firm has two offices located in Manhattan and in Forest Hills, Queens.
Ms. Roytberg’s practice focuses on all aspects of family and matrimonial law, including litigation, mediation, collaborative divorce and work on prenuptial and marital agreements. Her areas of concentration also include general mediation, residential real estate representation and ancillary general practice. Ms. Roytberg is fluent in the Russian language and frequently addresses legal needs of the Russian Community in New York. Her clients range from individuals and entrepreneurs to privately-held small companies.
She is a member and past President of the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York, an Advanced Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution and a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She is also a founding member of the Academy of Professional Mediators and of the Family Section and Dispute Resolution Section of the New York State Bar Association and has been a member of various Committees at the New York City Bar Association, including the Alternative Dispute Resolution and Matrimonial Committees and of the Task Force on New Lawyers in a Changing Profession at the New York City Bar Association. Ms. Roytberg is admitted to the Bars of the States of New York and New Jersey and to the Supreme Court of the United States. In addition to her private practice, Ms. Roytberg currently serves as Director of the Small Law Firm Center at the New York City Bar Association.

LARA TRAUM: FAMILY LAW MEDIATOR AND J.D. ASSOCIATE
Lara Traum is a family law mediator and associate with the Law Firm and Mediation Practice of Alla Roytberg, P.C.
Lara received her Juris Doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, cum laude, focusing her legal studies on cultural and inter-generational family disputes. Lara graduated with a Concentration in Family and Matrimonial Law and received a Jacob Burns Medal for Scholastic Achievement.
In law school, Lara was the Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution. She won first place at national and international Cyberweek eMediation competitions, as well as second place in the Northeast Regional ABA Representation in Mediation Competition.
Lara is a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution, the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation, and the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York. She is also on the Board of Directors of COJECO (Council of Jewish Emigre Community Organizations) as well as the Board of Directors of the Townsend Harris Alumni Association.
Lara’s writing on mediation and family law has appeared in numerous publications, including the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution and the Family Court Review. Noted publications include:

Under the auspices of the Law Firm and Mediation Practice of Alla Roytberg, P.C., Lara offers services in family, divorce, and elder mediation. Lara’s goal is to offer a constructive and understanding framework in which parties can work together to resolve their family conflicts and move on with their lives.
Lara was raised in Queens, New York and is bilingual in Russian and English. After graduating with high honors from Townsend Harris High School, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University. Before pursuing her mediation career, Lara worked with the Zamir Choral Foundation. In addition to conducting a HaZamir chapter, Lara sang as a soprano and soloist with the Zamir Chorale, performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
